In this episode of the Energy Explorer Live Series, Ouida will join iPEC graduate and Certified Coach Grace Germond to share about how she shifted from working in advertising to her work with Duncan Tree Foundation—a move that happened over the course of many years. - Join us as Ouida talks with Grace and shares how and why the foundation pivoted from providing scoliosis surgeries to children around the world to offering mentoring and coaching services around STEM careers to underserved teens in the United States, an idea that had been brewing for seven years. In this compelling conversion Ouida will also talk about how her childhood experiences in Jamaica have helped shape her path as well as her desire to bring balance to people’s lives through what she calls a four legged–chair approach to balance—physical, emotional, financial, and spiritual healing.

In the Middle Coaching and Mentoring Scholarship Program empowers high school students through personalized coaching and mentoring, helping them reach their full potential academically, socially, and personally. The program aims to bridge the gap between potential and achievement by fostering personal, academic, and social development, encouraging lifelong learning and resilience, and promoting a proactive attitude, particularly in the technology field. The program benefits students by improving academic performance, social skills, and emotional well-being while building leadership qualities and self-confidence. Parents gain increased involvement in their children's education, better understanding of their needs, and stronger family bonds. Teachers and schools see a more effective learning environment with reduced behavioral issues and improved classroom dynamics. Targeting high school students aged 15-17 who show potential but face challenges, the program offers group COR.E Energy coaching to help them manage stress and focus on academics, social skills, and personal development. Interactive workshops cover time management, study skills, and goal setting, while parent seminars provide guidance on supporting their children's growth. The program also partners with local businesses to offer real-world learning experiences and volunteer opportunities for parents and community members. Experienced mentors and coaches are recruited and trained to meet students’ needs, with regular check-ins and continuous assessment ensuring effectiveness. Adequate resources and funding are secured to sustain and grow the program. In summary, the Kids In the Middle Coaching and Mentoring Scholarship Program provides high school students with essential tools and guidance for success, significantly impacting students, parents, and teachers. Participation and support from all stakeholders are encouraged to maximize the program's benefits.
